Boomerang Mario, Koopa Troopa, and Mystery Figure

So in addition to the K'nex blind bag figures, there's also some 3 packs which feature a Mario variant, a second figure and a blind figure. Other Sets include fire Mario with hammer brother, Gold Mario with Fire Luigi. The internet says the former comes with a bob-omb and the latter comes with a gold bullet bill. The fact that this pack comes with a boomerang plant tells me the mystery figures are props from the building sets.

Seriously, the boomerang plant doesn't even stand up on its own. It's missing some sort of base or stand or something that seems to go with one of the Mario K'nex building sets. But  $10 for 2 figures  and a large prop, when singles usually go for $4, and I can't say I'm disappointed.

I really Want to get a hammer brother now but I'm pretty sure that it will eventually come out as a blind bag figure in a future wave.

Pac-Man and Blue Ghost

K'nex Pacman figures for Pac-man and the Ghostly Adventures. The blue ghost is the generic blue ghost that attacks the Pac people. Inky and his kin all got new character designs to distinguish them from the rest of the ghost horde. (In the cartoon they betray the ghosts from time to time in the hopes of being brought back to life.)

These come in 2 pack blind bags. Once you know the character breakdown it's insanely easy to use the squeeze method. Or you could use the underline code K'Nex is so enamored with.

The best part? Pac-Man's head is jointed so he can open his mouth.

Pac-Man is a pretty awesome figure. I'm not sure how many of the ghosts I want.

I still exist.

But not really buying new toys. Or at least not writing about them. The drive just ain't there. It just isn't.

Here's episode 74 of the Articulated Monster Podcast. I call the episode "Ennui"

Rory Williams

They finally made an action figure of Rory Williams, one of the greatest characters in the new Doctor Who. It made no sense, why not making an action figure of one of the Doctor's companions, one who travels with the Doctor for 2.5 seasons.

It was insanely frustrating. The fricking scientist from Victory of the Daleks got an action figure. But not Rory. Until now.

And of course once they announced his release, they also announced a variant because they just had to swap some colors around and NEW FIGURE!

The figure itself is okay, the likeness isn't great, but it is serviceable. The expression is dull, which is a shame because dude had some of the best confused or dumbfounded reaction faces in the series. That said, dull is pretty par for the course when it comes to human figures in this line.
