Every now and then I get these things because they're a quarter, but I gotta say. Glow-in-the-Dark alien dude isn't as cool as the monkey figures.
Due to the lack of paint for the glow-in-the-dark feature, details are hard to determine. I didn't even realize the little guy was wearing a baseball jersey or holding a bat until... about a minute ago when I looked at the close-up photo I just took for this blog entry.
He's a baseball playing alien. Sure. Kinda dull. I think there was an X-files episode about that, except the alien wasy playing in the Negro Leagues, so it was a hell of a lot more interesting than this.
It's a sad day when a 25 cent Alien toy from a gumball machine disappoints. Even the glowing from the glow-in-the-dark is dull and barely glowing.

That's too weird. I was actually considering posting about MY glow-in-the-dark alien I got from a bubble gum machine just the other day!

ReplyDeleteThese little greenish glowing aliens actually have sentimental value for my husband and I. On our first actual date, we went to Kings Dominion and afterwards on the way home we had a late dinner at an El Salvadorian restaurant where we were among *ahem* aliens. I grabbed two of these aliens for .25 cents each from the gumball machine at the restaurant for fun.
I photographed the aliens and traced their eyes/outlines (sans the bat or items they are holding) and I got a slightly smaller version them tattooed on my upper right arm alongside a very colorful and intricate space theme quarter sleeve. They are floating around in a nebula on my shoulder and the top alien sort of looks like he is pulling up the canvas.
